PITANGO Quartet is comprised of four classically trained highly skilled young musicians. The ensemble presents a rich repertoire of Argentinean Tango from the times of the legendary Gardel to the famous Astor Piazzolla. Pitango Quartet was founded at the beginning of 2003 and since then the ensemble performs regularly throughout Israel in recitals and in Milongas. In September 2003, Pitango toured Spain, including a performance at the “Clamores” Theater in Madrid. In July 2004 Pitango held a concert tour in Argentina (Buenos aires, Corrientes, Santa Fe and Parana) and was rewarded by the ''Mano Blanca Museum'' for their contribution to the Argentinian culture. In 2005, the ensemble gave one of the most memorable performances of the Israel Festival, hosting tango dancers and Argentinean musicians, with the program ''tango sin fronteras''. Following that, they appeared on all main stages in Israel and played a series of concerts with the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra. The quartet took part in an intensive tango course at the ''Casa del Tango'', Argentina and were also trained by bandoneon masters Efrain Scheinfeld and Raul Jaurena. Pitango recorded three CDs that received enthusiastic reviews and have been broadcasted on Radio stations in Israel, Spain, USA and Argentina. In 2010 Pitango performed Solo with the Jerusalem Symphony orchestra , and in the 5th Eilat Chamber Music festival played her recent show ''Tango Fuego'' with singer and dancers.
